Tom studied Mathematics at Durham University and stayed there for a second Mathematics degree for good measure. As a postgraduate, he had the opportunity to run small group undergraduate tutorials which he really enjoyed. After completing his PGCE, he was fortunate to land his first job, at Highgate School (North London), where he taught for 6 years and gained considerable experience by teaching a wide variety of year groups.
Tom recently relocated and has been teaching at Manchester Grammar School during the second and third lockdowns. When teaching, he is always on the lookout for interesting ways to introduce topics, often using discussion questions to draw out many of the key ideas from his students.
