Creating a shimmering vision for maths in your vocational area

Martin Newton and Katharine Davies

15:00-16:00, Thursday 30 June

Session description

The age old challenge of how to embed and develop maths across an FE college will be the focus of this session. There will be activities that you could use with vocational teachers, right through to a strategic approach working with SLT and middle managers. We will draw on our experience of working in FE, linking with the EIF, lessons leant from the MiFEC report/whole college approach and also look at how the 'General Mathematical Competencies' in T-Levels can be utilised outside of T-Levels.

This session will be relevant for maths & vocational teachers or managers that work in post-16 further education or work-based learning who have an interest in improving the development of maths across the college. Teachers and managers from secondary schools that are interested in maths across the school may also find this of use.
