A level Mathematics / Further Mathematics OCR(MEI) and Use of technology in teaching mathematics

The Further Pure with Technology (FPT) option in the new MEI A level for Further Mathematics contains a new topic on exploring differential equations. This session will cover the content of the topic with an opportunity to try some activities. There will also be some suggestions of technology-based activities that can be used for teaching the differential equations topic in the A level Further Pure core.

Delegates are requested to bring a laptop/tablet with GeoGebra installed to this session.

Assumed knowledge

A basic knowledge of the underlying mathematical content is expected.

About the speaker(s)

Tom Button is FMSP Student Support Leader and MEI Learning Technologies Specialist. Before this he taught in 6th form colleges. He's interested in the use of technology in maths: he runs the MEI/Casio Network and the MEI GeoGebra Institute and developed the Further Pure with Technology A level option.
